Brody is perfectly cast as Carter Webb, an adult-film writer who leaves L.A. to stay with his wacky Grandma only to be drawn into the lives of the many women across the street. As Carter struggles to reconcile his own inner conflicts, he is drawn into the pains and loves of the Hardwicke women, all of whom, the mother, the teenager and the little girl, change his life forever. Written and directed by first-time scribe Jon Kasdan, this tale of compassion and forgiveness is filled with heart and humor.

TOP CRITICS'S REVIEWS

Rotten:

-Cliff Doerksen, Time Out, November 17, 2011

Fresh: Kasdan's gift for the smart crack is consistently undercut by a well-developed taste for schmalz.

-Sandra Hall, Sydney Morning Herald, July 28, 2007

Rotten: I distrust any film in which people stand and argue and/or kiss in pelting rain

-Urban Cinefile Critics, Urban Cinefile, July 20, 2007

Rotten: The screenplay by Kasdan is soggy with earnest clichs.

-Tom Beer, Time Out New York, April 21, 2007
