Here it is, an adult romantic comedy that manages to be funny, romantic, acerbic and vitriolic, all at the same time. Think The War Of The Roses meets Pillow Talk, as a bickering couple decide it’s time to move on. But neither is willing to move out! For the lovely Brooke (Aniston) and “big kid” Chicago tour guide Gary (a perfectly cast Vaughn) the partnership was great while it was good, but now has headed south. As they split their property, the audience is given permission to split their loyalties, take sides or just split their sides laughing. Director Peyton Reed and his talented cast have created an on-screen relationship that is, at once, unpredictable and very real—with star chemistry at its most combustible. Extras include an alternate ending, deleted scenes, commentary with Vaughn and Aniston and much more. Click on the “Extra Features” tab above for additional information.

Fresh: "The Break-Up": A brilliantly uncompromising, often harsh but very accurate examination of a relationship unraveling
-Joe Baltake, Passionate Moviegoer, July 16, 2007Rotten: This is that branch of the romantic comedy known as 'a relationship movie', but generally short on witty lines and amusing incidents.
-Philip French, Guardian [UK], July 22, 2006Fresh: The Break-Up doesn't turn the rom-com on its head, but with its focus on the darker side of love manages to gently tip it on its side.
-Tony Horkins, Empire Magazine, July 22, 2006Fresh: Sharp dialogue and detailed observations make it a good deal funnier than you might expect.
-Anna Smith, Time Out, July 20, 2006
