Based on the acclaimed graphic comic book series from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, this visually-stunning, thrill-packed actioner is guaranteed to appeal to fans and non-fans alike. Director Zack Snyder (300), and an all-star cast truly deliver in this complex, multi-layered mystery adventure set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the 'Doomsday Clock' - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight.

When a hero known as the Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, TV's Weeds) is murdered, his former colleague, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach (2007 Oscar®-nominated Best Supporting Actor for Little Children, Jackie Earle Hayley), begins investigating who is behind the death. Soon thereafter, the other masked crime-fighters, Silk Spectre 2 (Malin Ackerman, 27 Dresses), Ozymandias (Matthew Goode), Nite Owl 2 (Patrick Wilson, Phantom of the Opera), and Dr. Manhattan (Billy Crudup, The Good Shepherd), a godlike being who is the only hero with actual superpowers, soon learn that there may be a plot to rid the world of their kind. Their mission is to watch over humanity... but who is watching over the watchmen? Find out in this dazzling adventure that will have you watching again and again.

TOP CRITICS'S REVIEWS

Rotten: If you haven't read the source material I think you're going to dislike it even more than I did. So yeah, it's sort of bad news around here.

-Laremy Legel, Film.com, May 06, 2011

Fresh: The film is a ballsy, brainy, and thoroughly bloody examination of human nature, pop culture and 'the good old days' that never were.

-Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, October 27, 2010

Fresh: Despite its flaws Watchmen is a stunning film that contains far more substance and intrigue than most comic book screen adaptations.

-Thomas Caldwell, Cinema Autopsy, October 06, 2010

Rotten: Great book, mediocre adaptation.

-Richard Roeper, Richard Roeper.com, March 13, 2009

Sucked
October 08, 2011

Too long, the climax boring, the real bad guy was terrible once revealed as such, and though they did background each character it seemed as if they did more on characters they should not have and less on ones they should have. Only one great performance played by Rorschach. Really all in all this movie sucked, I wanted to like it so much and there were a few cool scenes. If anyone likes this it is because they are a geek of the book or propaganda to get you to waste your money on it. SAD!
