But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must now decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on a journey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations where they must prevent the annihilation of mankind.

Rotten:

-Joshua Rothkopf, Time Out, November 17, 2011

Rotten: It brings me very little joy to report that this version of the popular Terminator franchise is silly, obtuse, and pointless.

-Laremy Legel, Film.com, May 06, 2011

Fresh: Machines ultra-cool, humans not so cool in McG's noisy actioner.

-Don Groves, sbs.com.au, January 03, 2011

Rotten: Listen, come over to my place this weekend; we'll rewatch Terminator 1 and 2, we'll listen to 'You Could Be Mine' by Guns N Roses, we can even discuss Edward Furlong's 'career'. And let's just pretend Terminator Salvation never happened.

Could have been better
February 02, 2011

I like Christian Bale a lot, but I don't think he was the right actor to play John Connor nor was Bryce Dallas right for Kate Connor. This movie has no humor unlike the previous 3 films, no time travel, and Sam Worthington steels the movie. His character was far more interesting than any other character. Which is sad, because this movie should have been about John, Kate, and Reese - the main characters of Terminator 1,2, & 3.

great movie

I bought this as a present for my bf, he watched it before when I rented it for him and he loved it so I knew he wanted to add it to his collection. He started watching it a couple of hours after he got it, he usually waits to watch them or forgets to watch them. So because he is happy so am I. If you like watching movies about the end of the world, I think you will really like it too.

A Great Beginning
March 17, 2010

Great special effects and it lived up to my expectations. I was excited to see a brief recreation of the young schwarzenegger towards the end.

good continuation
March 16, 2010

As a fan of the series, I thought this was an honorable way to continue the Classics of the Terminator. Ever since Arnold's first original character this series has not disapointed and this continues to be true. Very enjoyable from start to finish w/ even a cameo, albeit digital, from the man himself. Spec effects only add to the plot. Bravo!!!
