In a country in the grips of evil, in a police state where every move is being watched, a group of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power decide to take action.
This controversial historical thriller, expertly directed by Bryan Singer (Superman Returns, X-Men) delivers on all levels. Superstar Tom Cruise heads a distinguished international cast that also features Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Terence Stamp and Eddie Izzard. The combined efforts of all these talents reveal the shocking true story of the daring and ingenious plot by a group of World War II German army officers to kill Adolph Hitler in the summer of 1944. Their strategy: use Hitler's own emergency plan—known as Operation Valkyrie—to assassinate the dictator and overthrow the Nazi government from the inside.
Cruise turns in a full-throttle performance as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, the real-life mastermind behind the plot. Powerful performances by all and stunning period detail make Valkyrie a must.

Fresh: Valkyrie, as field-commanded by director Bryan Singer, succeeds on its own terms as a handsome hybrid of conspiracy thriller and history lesson, of Mission: Impossible and The Day of the Jackal.
-Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, September 07, 2011Rotten: Cruise, Singer, lose the credibility battle.
-Don Groves, sbs.com.au, December 31, 2010Fresh: A historically respectful, morally careful film.
-Dylan Rainforth, The Age (Australia), February 05, 2009Fresh: When he is at the top of his game, as he is here, Cruise's charisma is blinding.
-Eddie Cockrell, Sydney Morning Herald, January 29, 2009
I am not a fan of tom Cruises acting. But the screenplay for this movie gave him a real chance to show his acting capabilities to the audience. He was a shining star for sure!!!!!! From the very beginning you are sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the next move to take place. Bravo!!!!!!!
