Marriage is an institution they're committed to.
Reuniting the same charismatic cast and characters from his hit comedy/drama, Why Did I Get Married?, Tyler Perry brings us the next chapter in the lives of eight college friends struggling with the challenges of marital life in this sexy and satisfying sequel.
Gathered together in the Bahamas for their annual one-week reunion, the four close couples eagerly reconnect, sharing news about their lives and relationships. But their intimate week in paradise is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Sheila’s (Jill Scott) ex-husband, Mike (Richard T. Jones), who hopes to break up her new marriage with Troy (Lamman Rucker) and win her back.
The others soon realize they too are not immune to the challenges of commitment and fidelity. Angela (Tasha Smith) doesn’t believe her husband, Marcus (Michael Jai White), can be faithful now that he’s a celebrity television newscaster. Dianne (Sharon Leal) and Terry’s (Tyler Perry) relationship is feeling the strain of raising children. And Patricia (Janet Jackson), a successful self-help psychologist, must finally reveal the deep flaws in her seemingly perfect marriage to Gavin (Malik Yoba).
With their relationships hanging in the balance when they return home, each couple must choose between blame and forgiveness, doubt and faith, with life-altering consequences.

Rotten: Even a scene with Janet Jackson trashing a living room cannot lighten the laboured atmosphere.
-David Gritten, Daily Telegraph, September 02, 2010Rotten: Perry has plugged a hole in the market, for sure; it's just all a bit pleased with itself.
-Xan Brooks, Guardian [UK], September 02, 2010Rotten: Sometimes shrill, always uneven...
-Helen OHara, Empire Magazine, September 01, 2010Rotten: It becomes clear why Oprah is such a huge Perry fan.

this movie was ok. i had mixed feelings about it because i wasn't sure what the movie wanted to portray. i liked janet's character better this time around, this time not a "perfect patty". jill scott was great as usual. She is the most realistic character in the movie. the loud mouth alcholic wife is so funny. only thing, is that at the end, i was so sure that the funeral that they were attending was that of jill scotts ex-husband. i did not expect janet's husband to die from his accident. his character, made a total change into a money-hungry husband. the marriage took a downward spiral from the first movie because janet would not deal with the death of their child. now in the sequel. she wont deal with her husbands death, which in my opinion, she caused. Instead she smiling in the face of another guy at the end of the movie, as if she's glad to be moving on. It was only a year later, and here she is ready to start dating. never saw her mourn his death or feel guilty or anything. that i did'nt like. One more thing, tyler should not act in his own movies when the character is not MADEA. ithink his acting ability is limited to comedy. he locked in the madea mode. but he has great director and producer talents.
