Three Godfathers (1948) The tale of the Magi – Western style. Fugitive bank robbers John Wayne, Pedro Armendariz and Harry Carey Jr. won’t abandon the infant entrusted to them, even though caring for him dims their chances of escape.
Cheyenne Autumn (1964) A proud people abandon resettlement and head for their Yellowstone homeland in Ford’s moving, epic last Western. Richard Widmark, Carroll Baker, Karl Malden and James Stewart head an all-star cast.
Wagon Master (1950) A chronicle of a Mormon wagon train’s journey and one of Ford’s personal favorites among his works. Ben Johnson, Harry Carey Jr., Ward Bond and other familiar Ford faces take the reins in this glorious paean to the pioneer spirit. “Wagons west!”
