"I'll make your family an offer it can't refuse."
And when it comes to laughs and lunacy, who would even want to say no to Madea? Tyler Perry is back as everyone's favorite matriarch of mayhem!
Madea jumps into action when her niece, Shirley (Loretta Devine, Death At a Funeral), receives distressing news about her health. All Shirley wants is to gather her three adult children around her and share the news as a family. But Tammy (Natalie Desselle Reid), Kimberly (Shannon Kane) and Byron (Bow Wow, Lottery Ticket) are too distracted by their own problems: Tammy can't manage her unruly children or her broken marriage; Kimberly is gripped with anger and takes it out on her husband; and Byron, after spending two years in jail, is under pressure to deal drugs again.
It's up to Madea, with the help of the equally rambunctious Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis, Tyler Perry's House of Payne) to gather the clan together and make things right the only way she knows how: with a lot of tough love, laughter... and the revelation of a long-buried family secret.
It's love, laughs and life lessons, as only Tyler Perry can deliver.

Fresh: Like most of Perry's movies, this one oscillates wildly and shamelessly between raunch and pathos, leaving plenty of room for the performers to work. The lively ensemble includes a scene-stealing Cassi Davis as pothead Aunt Bam.
-Michael Wilmington, Chicago Reader, April 29, 2011Rotten: Epitomizing the shrill franchise's schizophrenic tonal shifts, Madea metes out Christian life lessons with one hand -- and righteously bitch-slaps with the other.
-A.A. Dowd, Time Out New York, April 27, 2011Rotten: The title is meant to be ironic. Too bad irony is in such short supply in Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family. Sadly, subtlety is also missing.
-Bruce Demara, Toronto Star, April 27, 2011Fresh: If Perry gets on your wavelength, you can forgive him too. He's only the host at a home-cooked banquet of wild emotions.
-Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, April 25, 2011
