Young. Sweet. Innocent. Deadly.
Hanna (Saoirse Ronan, The Lovely Bones) is 16 years old. She is bright, inquisitive, and a devoted daughter. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her widowed father Erik (Eric Bana, Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of North Finland. Erik has taught Hanna to hunt, put her through extreme self-defense workouts, and home-schooled her with only an encyclopedia and a book of fairy tales.
Hanna has been living a life unlike any other teenager; her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. But out in the world there is unfinished business for Hanna's family, and it is with a combination of pride and apprehension that Erik realizes his daughter can no longer be held back.
Also starring OscarĀ® winner Cate Blanchett (Best Supporting Actress 2004, The Aviator) as a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own, this riveting drama, acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, is one of those must-see film experiences that will leave viewers thinking long after the final credits roll.

Fresh: This cool, calculated who's-hunting-who piece brings home all the requisite tension, gunplay and fighting with a great deal of cinematic style.
-Jim Schembri, The Age (Australia), October 18, 2011Fresh: The entire thing - the whole weight of the movie - rests on the remarkable abilities of Saoirse Ronan ... she's an exceptional actor. She's one of a kind.
-CJ Johnson, ABC Radio (Australia), August 03, 2011Rotten: Wright is capable of much better, as is everyone in the cast. He's trying to make a silky Euro thriller with a frisson of controversy. It's more like a never-ending trailer.
-Paul Byrnes, Sydney Morning Herald, July 27, 2011Fresh: While you enjoy much of where Hanna is taking you, the destination is both bewildering and frustrating and, in retrospect, the path taken is extremely brutal.
-Margaret Pomeranz, At the Movies (Australia), July 27, 2011
