Rotten: The many topics raised - gangs, drugs, immigration, absentee parents, poverty - are examined with didacticism and platitudes instead of by mining their inherent complexities.
-Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, October 03, 2011Rotten: It takes a certain touch to pull it off, and here, the serviceable cast just doesn't have it in them.
-Tom Russo, Boston Globe, October 03, 2011Rotten: Devolves into over-the-top drama and a suffocating heavy-handedness.
-Keith Staskiewicz, Entertainment Weekly, October 02, 2011Rotten: Overplotted and understructured, "Courageous" is a slog to get through at 130 minutes.
-Paul Brunick, New York Times, October 02, 2011
I was planning to watch your normal "Cop" movie where cops shoot up.
But it was great to see this movie took other road and made the lesson come first.
It is a movie every fmaily should watch together and it is funny too!!

Truly an amazing movie, especially for this particular time and place. It's just so amazingly awesome on so many levels!!! I could just go on and on and on about it. Grin.
Oh, there are references to the usual sex, drugs and rock and roll, but it's not "In your face" or blatant about it. It's a terrific example of how respecting yourself leads you to respecting others.
I think it took courage to even make this movie in today, but, wow, how it's needed. It tells of those (get ready to roll your eyes) old fashioned virtues like honor, integrity, personal responsibility, honesty and love!
Great for parents, parents and kids to watch together, and for those thinking of becoming parents at some point in thier lives. So many truths! What a beautiful movie!!!

I loved this movie, my husband and I both cried. We gave a copy to our son and son in law for fathers day. We think every family, whether just a husband and wife or family with children should see this movie. It really makes you think about how you are or have raised your children

This was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! There is no foul language, no bloody scenes, and yet the movie is tremendous without any of that in it! Whether your a christian or not, this is a wholesome movie with a great storyline. I would recommend this to anyone! I have passed my movie to family and friends and not ONE person has not linked it! PLEASE rent/purchase it. You will see what others already have, one great movie!!!!
