Fresh: There are many lovely things in this film it is easy to forgive its small shortcomings
-Louise Keller, Urban Cinefile, January 12, 2012Fresh: Never mind that the tone wavers and the pace is mostly plodding, the film champions all the right things and the beautifully crafted images (in 3D glory) leave a lasting impression
-Andrew L. Urban, Urban Cinefile, January 12, 2012Fresh: You can practically feel time stop in sync with the audience's halted breath. It's nothing short of wizardry.
-Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, January 11, 2012Fresh: In Hugo Scorsese not only tells an important story about early cinema, but delivers a film that is a passionate and convincing reminder of the essential role art and imagination should play in our lives.

I loved HUGO. I thought it was amazingly creative, both visually in the train station with all the big clocks, and through its story of the orphaned boy hiding out in the mechanical rooms of the station. It was touching and sweet, inspiring, and delightful! A feast for the eyes and satisfying entertainment for all ages.

I saw Hugo in the theater and had to have it. Scorsese did a fantastic job with this one. It is a movie for adults and children art and cinimatography are very well done. Glad to see a "clean" movie for a change. It can be done so lets continue. Thanks Mr. Scorsese !!

Scorsese's ode to film history and subsequent preservation disguised as a kid's movie. My 6 year old has requested to rewatch it which means a definate thumbs up on our part.
