Johnny thunders back...in a blaze of glory.

Nicolas Cage reprises his role as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance.

In this gritty new vision for the character, directed by Neveldine/Taylor (Crank), Johnny is still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter—but he may risk everything as he teams up with the leader of a group of rebel monks (Idris Elba) to save a young boy from the devil...and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

TOP CRITICS'S REVIEWS

Fresh: Astonishing effects, brilliant production design, great locations, relentless pace and some wry lines well delivered give the film excellent entertainment value

-Andrew L. Urban, Urban Cinefile, March 17, 2012

Fresh: Although Spirit of Vengeance never reaches the madcap heights of Neveldine/Taylor's unhinged Crank, it's an inventive, wonderfully weird, and surprisingly focused one-shot comic-book adventure.

-Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, March 15, 2012

Rotten: This is a boring movie. The over-the-top outlandishness can't disguise that the whole 95 minutes represent one big snooze-fest.

-James Berardinelli, ReelViews, February 19, 2012

Rotten: Whether Cage is still paying off castles, appeasing the IRS, or rebuilding his comic book collection, it's clear he's decided, for now, to trade his talent for cold, hard cash.

-Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, February 18, 2012

What if?

Good FX, but could be better. The angrier the Ghost gets, the more elaberate the FX should be; and the more power he could apply to the target. There should be more shock and awe at the climax. Some of the other reviewers missed the point of movie; it is a "demonic fantasy"! This was not ment to be a horror flick.

Horrible movie
August 16, 2012

I loved the first movie. I know things are never ideal, but they completely changed the beginning of the story. There were too many character changes, and the whole "deal" did not coincide between the two movies. I also like Nicholas Cage, but he was almost too comical in his role. There are a lot of awesome special effects, but not enough to sale me on the movie.

Not worth the trouble
August 06, 2012

This movie is so BAD it isn't worth buying. Why Nicholas Cage (Who is a great movie star) would even waste his time on this rotten movie is beyond me. This has to be one of the worst movies he ever stared in.
