They left her no choice.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, this dynamic action-thriller boasts a talented cast that includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, Michael Angarano; and introduces MMA superstar Gina Carano in a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts.

Mallory Kane (Carano) is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.

Action-packed from start to finish, and that cast...! You have to see it, to believe it.

TOP CRITICS'S REVIEWS

Fresh: Steven Soderbergh continues his occasional practice of using actors as found objects in his perfectly enjoyable formula action-thriller Haywire.

-David Edelstein, New York Magazine, January 08, 2013

Fresh: Mixed martial-arts star Carano puts major muscle, if minor acting ability, into this enjoyable action flick.

-Rafer Guzman, Newsday, January 08, 2013

Fresh: Steven Soderbergh devised the film especially for his kickboxing champion leading lady Gina Carano, who kicks her way through a line of leading men, all coming off a poor second best.

-Louise Keller, Urban Cinefile, July 21, 2012

Fresh: If you want to see a female action star in the making convincingly kicking the crap out of a succession of photogenic boys, this is the ticket to buy.

-Catherine Bray, Film4, March 22, 2012

Expected more

Not a bad movie but not a great movie either. Expected more action based on the preview I seen.

Not Sure what movie everyone else watched
July 03, 2012

This movie is not cookie cutter mind numbing action. This movie is probably as close to reality based action; that most of us are not impressed, unless we have high-flying stunts & computer generated special effects. The story was complicated, you had to pay attention to the "boring parts" to enjoy the rest of the movie and the incredible action scenes. The acting was not Academy Award level, but very good. Mallory Kane (Carano) was awesome; the supporting cast; good-the cameos were silly, but most are. I went in thinking the movie would probably stink; and I was completely wrong. It was directed and edited like a good book-but if you want to watch another Mission Impossible movie, this is not the flick. But if you want a good action thriller with great real world action stunts-this is the movie for you.

Not Very Good (and that's really kind)
June 18, 2012

Ms Carano is pretty and sexy but she needs a movie that shows her with some emotional capability other than "Try to kiss me and your dead!) The real question is why would Michael Douglas appear in this movie? If he is still married to Zeta-Jones, she must have given him one hellva honey-do list to get him out of the house. Sorry Michael, in this one....Greed is Bad!
